Terms and Conditions

Oct 19, 2026

These terms apply when you buy goods or services from J-Servers (ABN 64 156 562 037), whether online through this website or in store. Please read them before ordering.

1. Prices and GST

All prices are in Australian dollars. Prices for goods on this website include GST. Labour rates in clause 9, and quotes for services, are shown excluding GST unless stated otherwise. A tax invoice is issued for every order. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown separately at checkout before you pay.

We try to keep prices and product information accurate, but errors happen. If we find that an item was listed at an obviously incorrect price, we will contact you before processing the order and you may confirm at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

2. Placing an order

Adding items to your cart and paying places an order with us; it does not by itself create a contract. Our acceptance happens when we confirm the order or dispatch the goods, whichever comes first. If we cannot supply an item you have paid for, we will tell you and refund that item in full.

Stock levels shown on the site are a guide. Some items are sent to you directly by our supplier, and availability can change between you ordering and us picking the order.

3. Payment

We accept payment through Stripe, Square, PayPal and Zip, depending on the method you choose at checkout, and by BECS direct debit for account customers. Card details are entered with and held by the payment provider - we never receive or store your full card number. Orders are not dispatched until payment has cleared.

4. Delivery

We deliver to the address you give at checkout, normally by Australia Post. Standard delivery usually takes 5 to 14 days and Express 2 to 7 days. These are the carrier's estimates, not guarantees.

Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please check your order on arrival and tell us promptly if anything is missing or damaged in transit. If nobody is available to receive a delivery, the carrier's own re-delivery or collection process applies.

5. Cancelling or changing an order

You can change or cancel an order for a full refund at any time before it is marked as shipped or ready for collection. Contact us as soon as possible, as orders are processed quickly. Once an order is marked as shipped or ready for collection, it cannot be cancelled or recalled, and clause 6 applies.

6. Returns

We do not accept change-of-mind returns once an order is marked as shipped or ready for collection.

If goods are faulty, damaged or not as described, contact us and we will provide a repair, replacement or refund in line with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (clause 7). How to return an item, and how refunds are paid, is set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy.

7. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:

•         to cancel your service contract with us; and

•         to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.

You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.

If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion.

You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.

Nothing in these terms limits those rights. They last for a reasonable time depending on the goods or services, and are not limited to any warranty period. Any reasonable proof of purchase is accepted, such as a tax invoice, order confirmation or bank statement.

8. Warranty

Manufacturer warranties apply to goods as stated by the manufacturer.

Our repair labor and the parts we fit are warranted for 30 days from completion. If a fault in our work or those parts appears in that time, we will fix it at no cost, including reasonable return freight. To claim, contact us using the details in clause 19 with your job number, and we will arrange inspection and repair.

This warranty does not cover accidental or liquid damage, misuse, work carried out by someone else afterwards, or reinfection after virus and malware removal.

This warranty is in addition to your other rights and remedies under the law, including the guarantees in clause 7, which may last longer than 30 days.

9. Labor rates

Our standard labor rate is $100.00 per hour plus GST during business hours: 9:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, and 9:00am to 2:30pm Friday. Work outside those hours is charged at $180.00 per hour plus GST with a minimum charge of one hour. Where a repair needs invasive work, we will identify it and tell you the maximum cost before proceeding. We do not charge for work needed to fix a failure covered by clause 7 or clause 8.

10. Repairs

Where you leave a device with us for repair, a separate repair authorization applies and is signed at the counter. It covers assessment, your data, any access details you choose to give us, replaced parts and collection. Please back up your data before leaving a device with us - responsibility for having a backup rests with you. This does not limit your rights under clause 7.

Devices left uncollected are dealt with under the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act 1968 (Tas).

11. Payment terms and overdue accounts

Unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, invoices are payable within 7 days. Overdue amounts may attract a late fee of up to 6% of the amount outstanding, and we may place further supply on hold until the account is brought up to date.

Goods remain our property until they are paid for in full.

12. Quotes

Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote and are based on the information available at the time. If the work turns out to be different from what was quoted, we will contact you before continuing.

13. Subscriptions, rentals and deposits

Subscription services, including PTT, fleet management and server management, are billed monthly in advance on the 1st of each month to your card on file or by BECS direct debit. You authorize us to charge your nominated payment method each month until you cancel.

You can cancel a subscription at any time by contacting us using the details in clause 19. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing month in which you cancel, and no further charges are made after that. Charges already billed for the current month are not refunded unless the service failed to meet the guarantees in clause 7.

Rented equipment remains our property. You must return it within 14 days after your rental ends, in the same condition apart from fair wear and tear. We may charge the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing equipment that is lost, or damaged beyond fair wear and tear.

Where we take a security deposit, it is held on trust in a separate bank account. We refund it within 14 days after the equipment is returned and checked, less any amounts you owe us under your agreement, and we will give you an itemized list of any deductions.

14. Using this website

You may use this site to browse and buy for your own purposes. Please do not attempt to interfere with the site, gain unauthorized access to it, or extract its content in bulk. Product descriptions, images and specifications are supplied by manufacturers and distributors and may change without notice.

The content and branding on this site belong to us or to our suppliers and may not be reproduced without permission.

15. Your privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our privacy policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

16. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the guarantees in clause 7. Where goods or services are not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use, and to the extent the law allows, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited to replacing or repairing the goods, supplying the services again, or paying the cost of doing so.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you place an order is the version that applies to it, and the date it was last updated is shown at the top.
